Northern lights over Gullfoss Falls, Iceland
After hunting for a couple of nights, we finally managed to see THE NORTHERN LIGHTS! Every photographer’s dream is to get a glimpse of it, even if it is that slight green hue in the night sky.
After a drive from Kirkjufel and the Snaefells Peninsula, we were on to the Golden Circle, to Gullfoss.
Most of our days were cloudy but we got lucky this very night.
As soon as we checked in to our hotel around 9-9:30 PM, the God’s show started, as if it were waiting for us to arrive.
I removed my camera, ran outside the hotel and started a time lapse.
Luckily, our hotel was super close to Gullfoss falls so after the time lapse, I immediately went over to the falls and captured this single exposure of the falls along with the northern lights! Yes you read that right, this is a single exposure!!
This picture was extremely challenging to capture and I was drenched while capturing this due to the thunder coming from the falls straight on my camera lens.
Nevertheless, I managed to get a few shots right ;)
